AI Beyond the Basics: Exploring AI Tools, creativity and Ethics in school
Lesson 1: AI and Creative Arts?
Explores how Artificial Intelligence influences music, visual arts, writing, film, and digital media. Students engage with AI tools to create original art, music, and stories while critically examining the differences between human and AI-generated creativity. The lesson includes hands-on projects, ethical discussions, and activities that promote digital literacy, creative expression, and responsible AI use—equipping learners in Dubai and the GCC with future-ready skills.
Lesson 2: What are chatbots; How They Work and Learn?
In this lesson, teachers and students will explore what chatbots are and how they function in everyday digital interactions. They will learn the basics of Natural Language Processing (NLP), machine learning, and Large Language Models (LLMs) — the core technologies that power AI chatbots. Through engaging activities, students will understand how chatbots analyze and predict language, generate human-like responses, and improve through continuous learning. This knowledge will help learners reflect on their own use of chatbots while building digital literacy and awareness of how AI systems communicate. Perfect for AI literacy and aligned with UAE's AI in education goals.
Lesson 3: Exploring chatbots; How Data Shapes Responses?
In this lesson, teachers and students will explore how bias can appear in chatbot responses and understand the role of training data in shaping chatbot behavior. They will examine how information collected from the internet influences what chatbots say, and why some responses may reflect stereotypes or unfair assumptions. Through hands-on examples and discussions, students will learn to critically analyze chatbot outputs and recognize how bias enters AI systems. This lesson builds awareness of ethical AI use and encourages students to think about fairness, inclusivity, and the importance of diverse datasets in developing responsible AI tools.
Lesson 4: How AI Affects the way we connect with people?
In this lesson, teachers and students will reflect on meaningful moments of human connection in their daily lives and identify patterns in their social interactions. They will explore how these connections make them feel and examine the role AI plays in shaping communication—enhancing some experiences while potentially limiting others. By analyzing the influence of technology and AI on relationships, students will gain insight into their own habits and how digital tools impact their ability to connect with others. This lesson encourages self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and critical thinking about the intersection of AI and human relationships.
Lesson 5: Creating Smart AI Rules for Classroom.
In this lesson, we will explore the benefits and drawbacks of using AI in schoolwork. They will review real examples of AI tools used in learning, discussing how these tools can support or hinder understanding and personal growth. Through group discussions, students will collaborate to create a set of responsible AI usage norms tailored to their classroom. By the end of the lesson, students will reach a shared understanding of when it’s appropriate to use AI for assignments, promoting ethical and mindful learning in an AI-powered world.
Lesson 6: Using AI for Creativity.
We will explore how AI can enhance creativity by generating text, images, and more. They will learn to write clear prompts and use AI tools to bring their ideas to life responsibly.
Lesson 7: ChatGPT in Schools.
Examine how ChatGPT supports or differs from human ideas. They gain an understanding of what GPT is, how it works, and discuss the role and impact of ChatGPT in school and work.
Lesson 8: AI Tools and our Rights.
We explore the connection between human rights, privacy, and the use of AI tools and algorithms. We discuss how AI can affect freedoms, access, and digital privileges, while learning how to protect their rights online.
Lesson 9: AI and Social Media.
We learn how AI organizes data using clustering algorithms and how it affects what we see online. We explore concepts like filter bubbles, misinformation, and ethical challenges of AI in social media and education.
